The prize list for the 2012 Hampton Classic Horse Show is now available on line through the Hampton Classic website at www.HamptonClassic.com, and will be mailed to exhibitors in late May.

The Hampton Classic is also excited to announce that this year, for the first time, exhibitors can submit their entries electronically through Equestrian Connect, a web service for completing horse show entry forms online. Last year, Hampton Classic exhibitors used the service to complete entry forms, but were required to print, sign and mail them with payment. Now, exhibitors can use their accounts to submit their entries with a click of their mouse.

“We are excited to offer our exhibitors the opportunity to submit entries electronically in addition to the old fashioned way,” said Shanette Cohen, Hampton Classic executive director. “We are always committed to offering the absolute best services to our exhibitors. Last year, we were delighted with the entry forms we received through Equestrian Connect. They were legible, and complete, saving valuable time for our horse show staff.

“Now we can make things easier for our exhibitors. And, we are thrilled that Equestrian Connect is offering exhibitors a free 45-day trial period, beginning when our entries go online, which allows exhibitors to try the service cost-free. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.”

The 37th annual Hampton Classic returns, August 26–September 2, for another year of exciting equestrian competition, luxurious shopping, and activities with something for every member of the family. Set amidst the splendor of Long Island’s spectacular Hamptons, near some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, the Hampton Classic is the culminating event of the Hamptons’ summer season.

This year’s Hampton Classic features some exciting changes to its competition schedule. Opening Day activity will see the $20,000 Nicolock Time Challenge move to the morning as opposed to the afternoon when it has been held in past years. Following the conclusion of that class and Classic will host the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, presented by MeadowView Farms, which debuted at the Classic last year. This will mark an unprecedented opportunity for hunter exhibitors to compete in the Hampton Classic’s famed Grand Prix Ring.

After many years as an Opening Day tradition, the Classic’s Lead Line classes will be held on Grand Prix Sunday. Lead Line will be held in the newly named Anne Aspinall Ring, formerly Hunter Ring I. In addition, the short-stirrup competition, also traditionally held on Opening Day, will now take place on Wednesday in the Annex Ring.

The Hampton Classic is one of the most prestigious horse shows in the nation and features competitors at every level from Lead Line to Olympic veterans in the Classic’s feature event, the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup™ Qualifier.

For those who can’t make it to the show grounds, WVVH-TV, the official Long Island television station of the Hampton Classic, broadcasts up to five hours of competition and highlights each day during the Classic. These broadcasts can also be seen online at www.wvvh.tv. In addition, live streaming of many competitions will be available through Shownet (www.shownet.biz).
